Course summary

This short Level 3 qualification is ideal if you are an aspiring or newly-appointed manager or if you have had no management training before. It covers key aspects of the management role and is intended to be interactive and practical, encouraging you to apply what you learn in the workplace through the work-based assignments.  A one-to-one tutorial is built into the programme before the first assignment is started to give confidence to those returning to study.

Progression

  • On successful completion of a Level 3 qualification in Leadership and Management, you may wish to consider completing the Certificate or Diploma through CMI – a distance learning qualification.

Entry requirements

  • You must be working (or aspiring to work) at supervisory level and hold an English qualification at Level 2/GCSE Grade A-C.

Course content

The course covers the following modules:

  • Confidence and Assertiveness
  • Leadership and Motivation
  • Organising and delegating in the workplace
  • The communication process in the workplace

Timings and Assessments

  • 7 weekly sessions, Mondays
  • Starts on 25th September 2017
  • Assessment is via written assignments, usually 1000 to 1500 words.  Assessment activities will be assessed by the trainer who delivered that unit and will be graded as ‘Pass’ or ‘Refer’.  If an assessment activity is referred, you will be given feedback to support you in reaching the necessary level of competence required to pass this element.  You will need to pass each element in order to pass the unit. You will need to successfully pass each unit in order to achieve the full qualification.
